BIG CELEBRATION
FOR THE WORLD PREMIERE OF
TEXAS: THE BIG PICTURE
THE NEW FILM AT THE BOB BULLOCK
TEXAS STATE HISTORY MUSEUM'S IMAX THEATRE
SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2003 FROM 10 AM - 4 PM

Austin, TX -- Big sights, big sounds, big tastes and big fun - that's what folks can expect at the big opening celebration of the new signature large-format film, TEXAS: The Big Picture, at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum on Saturday, May 3. Join in the free festivities from 10 am to 4 pm on the Museum's plaza, where you can learn to lasso, try your hand at some Midway-style games like the ones at the Texas State Fair and get your face painted. Plus, meet the film's narrator, Colby Donaldson, the popular Texan who appeared in the reality TV show "Survivor: The Australian Outback." From 1-3 pm, enjoy the live rockabilly sound of Two Tons of Steel - a great Texas band that appears in the film. Compete in the Big Belt Buckle Contest at 3 pm or the Big Hair Contest at 3:30 pm to win big-time prizes. Corndogs and other fairground concessions will be for sale on site. With big fun for all ages, the opening day is the perfect time to find out what the big picture is all about.

TEXAS: The Big Picture is a brand-new, larger-than-life film that captures the myth, majesty and magnitude of the Lone Star State from the Panhandle to the Rio Grande and from West Texas to the Gulf of Mexico. Presented by the State of Texas and the Texas State History Museum Foundation, TEXAS: The Big Picture is a GSD&M Production. Funding provided by the Texas State History Museum Foundation, Southwest Airlines, ExxonMobil and the State of Texas.
